Yes, there’s a TON of stuff to do in the Disney Area, but sometimes it’s kind of nice to take a drive and see some other Florida attractions.
My favorite day trip to take outside of the Disney Area is to the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. It’s just a 1 1/2 drive from Brunello Villa to learn the history and science behind human space travel.
If you’re a space nut like I am, you’ll love seeing rockets, shuttles, and space capsules up close—as well as watching astronaut documentaries and learning how they design ultra high-tech space suits.
You also get to take a bus tour through the cape to see NASA hangars and the launch pads for SpaceX, Elon Musk’s private sector space endeavor. I highly recommend that you read Musk’s best-selling biography before you go to get you in the mood.
Tickets run $50 per adult and $40 per child, and you can easily spend an entire day at the attraction. In fact, I plan on going back again sometime soon…
Whatever you do, don’t miss the opportunity to see the Atlantis! It’s incredible.
One more tip: Keep in mind when planning your trip that there are rocket launches the whole year round, so don’t forget to checkout the launch schedule.
